Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and committed male Bosun to join a 55m private motor yacht. The vessel operates with a busy family cruising schedule in Northern Europe from April to October and remains based in the Netherlands during the winter.
The role includes all exterior responsibilities such as cleaning, maintenance, painting, varnishing, tender driving, watersports setup, and guest service. Candidates should have strong practical skills in Awlgrip and G-Line paint systems, along with basic varnish preparation and application techniques.
Experience on yachts of 55m+ is preferred but not essential. Those with experience on smaller or larger vessels are also welcome to apply.
The Captain is a hands-on and supportive leader who provides mentorship and bridge-time opportunities to crew members eager to learn and advance. The successful candidate should be able to commit beyond a single season and contribute positively to a respectful, cooperative, and non-confrontational team environment.
Requirements
Must be male and hold an EU passport
Minimum STCW and ENG1 certificates
Previous yacht experience required
Solid practical skills in Awlgrip and G-Line paint systems
Basic varnish preparation and application
Strong tender-driving skills and good seamanship
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to commit beyond one season
Focus on safety, empathy, and non-violent communication
